Common warning signs

It does not need to be completely broken

An unmanaged website can keep loading while forms fail, software ages, access disappears and customer information drifts out of date.

  • You do not know where the domain or hosting is registered
  • The previous developer or agency is no longer available
  • Important text, prices, staff or opening details are wrong
  • Forms, certificates, booking links or mobile pages fail
  • There is no clear backup, update or maintenance process
  • You are being pushed towards a rebuild before the existing site is assessed

The takeover process

Four controlled steps

Step 1

Public website check

We record visible faults, customer-journey friction and the pages that matter most before asking for any access.

Step 2

Access and ownership map

We identify the domain, DNS, hosting, platform, forms and connected services that need to be controlled or recovered.

Step 3

Priority repair plan

Urgent availability, enquiry and security problems are separated from content improvements and optional redesign work.

Step 4

Handover or monthly care

Completed changes and account ownership are documented. You can take the site back or agree a Web Care Plan for ongoing upkeep.

Questions

Website takeover FAQ

Can you help if the old developer no longer replies?

Yes. We first identify the services and recovery routes still available. We will be clear if the current provider, registrar or a platform specialist must be involved.

Do I need to send passwords with my enquiry?

No. Never send passwords through the enquiry form. Secure invitations or official account-recovery routes are used later, after the scope is agreed.

Will I keep ownership of my domain and website accounts?

The aim is for your business to retain control of the domain, hosting and platform accounts. Recommended account changes are documented before work begins.
